Sorry everyone. I had this set up to send me emails when someone replied but somehow I didn't get them. I had a longer reply typed but guess what happened halfway through? Yep, low memory warning and FF shut down. I had already tried Method one and two. I have Microsoft Security Essentials and keep it updated and run scans regularly. I ran Spybot and CCleaner like every week and they haven't caught anything. Nothing in performance manager (just recommendations on screen saver and brightness. VM was raised to the recommended level.

So, maybe it's FF or all these svchost.exe? There seem to be a bunch of these especially when i show processes from all users (even though there is only one profile on the computer). I have turned automatic updates to show me first before the update. Should I turn it all the way off and just check regularly on my own? I will have to research it more. I usually have FF open and maybe one other program occasionaly. Notepad, calculator, writer, nothing to warrant the spike in memory. But I notice when i look at the task manager it shows 57+ processes running. I don't know what's going on but I think those are related. Oh, and the sd card was from my husbands Hero (cell phone). He has an anti-virus program on that too. The card just was funky for a bit, I don't believe that it's related to this headache.
