My C++ professor has had us use Terminal for editing code. Is there an app or program that will allow me to send and receive email via Terminal, so I can stay in one window?

This sure takes me back to my university days..

Mutt has still got to be one of the best terminal-based mail clients out there. It's been around longer than I'd like to admit. It's available as a homebrew package:

Overall you'll get a much better experience using something like Mutt than you will with something like mail because it supports IMAP, POP3 and SMTP -- you don't have to learn sendmail or anything like that to get it to work with your accounts.

You can even use Mutt with Gmail if that's your bag. See this article for details on setting up Mutt to work with Gmail.

With this software in your Windows PC, you will be able to view and read Mac drives as though they were native to Windows. You do not even need to launch the program. When you connect an HFS+ disk to the Windows PC, MacDrive 10.5 will work in the background to ensure the drive is visible and its content can be read. HFS+ vs APFS Up until recently, HFS+ was the only file system supported by macOS and OS X. However, with the launch of the newest macOS High Sierra, Apple introduced a new drive type called Apple File System (APFS). HFS+ HFS+ was first introduced in 1998 with the launch of Mac OS 8.1 back when Apple made the switch to Intel-based processors. Although HFS+ is supported on all versions of Mac. HFS+ for Windows is the only solution that provides full read-write access to HFS /HFSX partitions on any type of disks (GPT, MBR) under most of Windows versions! Access Mac-formatted partitions in Windows systems with the fastest and most stable HFS driver on the market. Free word program for pc. Connect your Mac-formatted drive to your Windows system, open HFSExplorer, and click File > Load File System From Device. Price: $20, 10-day free trial. Paragon HFS+ for Windows is a paid application, but it distinguishes itself with additional features. Any Windows program can read from or write to the Mac drive. This application does. NTFS for Mac by Paragon Software solves this naughty issue in Mac OS X, Free HFS+ for Windows by Paragon Software does it in Windows OS. With Free HFS+ for Windows driver onboard, you can plug in HFS+ storages to your PC and get access to their contents for reading, copying, or modification. The driver is based on the Paragon UFSD technology.

Pretty colours..

For a full fledged terminal based email client that supports most email protocols, I'd suggest using mutt. You can download mutt from here, if you'd like to build from source. This webpage gives you directions on how to install on OS X.

If you use homebrew, then installing is as simple as brew install mutt (and similarly for fink and macports).

Here are a few basic steps to get your .muttrc configured:

You can customize these further as you wish, and there are also some useful questions in the mutt tag on Unix.SE and StackOverflow

Yes and here is another one called the Alpine Messaging System a.k.a Alpine. Available from the University of Washington

Terminal Os X

Alpine is a free software email client developed at the University of Washington. Alpine 1.0 was publicly released on December 20, 2007. The name 'Alpine' stands for Alternatively Licensed Program for Internet News and Email. Alpine is a rewrite of the Pine Message System that adds support for Unicode and other features. Alpine is meant to be suitable for both inexperienced email users and the most demanding of power users. Alpine is developed at the University of Washington, as was Pine before it. Alpine can be learned by exploration and the use of context-sensitive help. The user interface can be customized.

If you install MacPorts you can install alpine by doing the following:
